Detailed Goal: Managing Frustration

Watch, Play, Learn SEL Block: Kaki is Frustrated 
Basma and Jad cloud watch, but each time one spots an animal shape in the clouds, the wind changes the image before the other can see. Chicken interrupts with a big feelings alert - it's their friend Kaki! Kaki is drawing a picture on the sidewalk, but the wind keeps blowing leaves over his artwork and he doesn't want to draw anymore. Basma, Jad, and Chicken help Kaki to identify his emotion as "frustration" and help him feel better by "belly breathing." Later Basma and Jad resume their cloud watching game, but the wind continues to change the animal shape before the other can see. After helping Kaki, Basma and Jad are able to identify that they are feeling "frustrated" and use the "belly breathing" method they learned to calm down.  

Watch, Play, Learn SEL Block: Elmo is Frustrated 
Basma and Filo are playing corn stalks where they pretend to be in pots made of boxes and they grow. Jad tries to play the game but gets frustrated because he can't balance. Chicken interrupts with a big feelings alert - it's their friend Elmo! Elmo is trying to draw a picture of the park but is frustrated because the chickens keep blocking his view. Basma and Jad help Elmo identify his emotion as "frustration" and help him calm down by teaching him to "move it out." Moving it out helps Elmo and Jad feel less frustrated. 

Watch, Play, Learn SEL Block: Gargur is Frustrated 
Basma, Jad, and Gargur pretend to run a restaurant with Jad as their chef, but when his sand pies fall apart Jad does not want to play anymore. Chicken interrupts with a big feelings alert - it’s their friend Gargur! On the other side of the play place Gargur is playing waiter, but the chickens won’t sit quietly so he can serve them their meals. Basma, Jad and Chicken help Gargur to identify his emotion as ""frustration"" and feel better by counting to five. Jad uses the same technique and comes up with an even better item on the menu – sand soup!
